The urban planning of the six new small towns to be built on the Yenisei river banks will start in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in 2022. Yevgeny Pashchenko, Head of the Project, has announced this at the New Small Siberian Towns as Drivers of Progress for the Yenisei Agglomeration and the Arctic conference.

To develop the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Arctic, the project proposes to build an agglomeration of six towns along the Yenisei banks.

'Next year, we are going to start the urban planning of these towns... The small towns are to be built in a certain order, starting from Biryusa and ending with Dikson. They are these strong points for further territory development,' says Yevgeny Pashchenko.

The reference names of the new towns are Biryusa, Lesosibirsk, Dubches, Turukhan, Norilsk, and Dikson. Pashchenko has explained to TASS that these are just geographical placeholder names to provide an understanding of where the general location will be. In reality, the new towns will be built at a distance from the actual localities with such names.
