In Murmansk Region, a new resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation, Murmansk Airport, will design and build a new air terminal complex for domestic airlines. The terminal will increase the airport's capacity, improve the quality of passenger service and speed up baggage handling. The facility is scheduled to be operational in the summer of 2023.

The new airport terminal is designed to have the capacity to handle up to 400 passengers per hour and over a million passengers per year. The complex will be built on the right-hand side of the existing terminal building and will have passenger boarding and disembarkation bridges, which is of particular importance in a region with a harsh northern climate. The facade design brings to life the image of the Khibiny Mountains, illuminated by the Northern lights.

The appearance of the 64th resident of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in the Murmansk region - PJSC "Airport Murmansk" - commented Governor Andrey Chibis.

“The construction of a new modern terminal at the Murmansk airport is an important project for our residents and guests of the region. In addition to improving comfort and increasing passenger traffic, this is an investment of almost 2 billion rubles and the creation of more than 200 jobs. And for us, no doubt, it is very important that more and more large investors receive tools and preferences for projects that will be beneficial to both the region and the entrepreneur,” the head of the Murmansk region noted in this regard.

Under an agreement with a single development institution, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, investments in the project will amount to 1.9 billion rubles. More than 200 people will be employed. The resident intends to take advantage of a wide range of "Arctic" preferences in the implementation of the project.

“The decision of PJSC“ Airport Murmansk ”to obtain the status of a resident of the Arctic zone will allow, on mutually beneficial terms, to organize interaction with authorities aimed at increasing the level of comfort of passenger air transportation. Closer cooperation will speed up access to up-to-date information, and tax incentives, in particular zero taxes on property, land and profits for 5 years, subsidizing 75% of insurance premiums to the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation, FSS and MHIF for 10 years, will qualitatively optimize transport activities , develop the technical equipment of the airport, create new jobs, which will have a positive effect on increasing interest in northern tourism, "said Ruslan Stepanets, General Director of Airport Murmansk PJSC.

In the future, the company intends to implement plans to expand the new terminal and reconstruct the existing terminal, transferring it to serve international flights.

Today there are 64 of them in the AZRF and 9 in the ASEZ "Capital of the Arctic", projects are being implemented in the fields of tourism, agriculture, mining, fishing, metallurgy, transport and logistics, and the provision of services.

Recall that in the Far East, in favorable conditions of the territories of advanced development, projects are being implemented for the construction of air terminals in Sakhalin and Kamchatka; earlier, the TOP resident launched a new passenger terminal in Khabarovsk.
