Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area signs agreement on Arctic zone development
Yugra authorities will collaborate with Arctic zone residents.
14 August 2024The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area government hosted a meeting between Ruslan Kukharuk, Acting Head of the region, Alexey Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, and Igor Karachin, First Deputy Director General and Chief of Staff of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. This was reported by the Megapolis TV channel.
A mutual cooperation agreement was signed between the Ministry and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area.
'The Ugra Development Fund will now directly engage with Arctic zone residents,' the district government announced.
Under the agreement, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area authorities will provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurs implementing investment projects in the Berezovsky and Beloyarsky districts.
In 2023, Ugra ranked among the top 15 regions in the National Investment Climate Rating for Russian Federation subjects. The district improved its performance across ten indicators.
'The key indicator for us is the business community's response—how comfortable they feel,' Ruslan Kukharuk noted.
