The Arctic Startup Expedition: The Far East and the Russian Arctic (ASE FERA) has the potential to reach an international scale. Aleksey Chekunkov, the Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic, proposed this idea at the federal forum Digital Diamond in Yakutsk, as reported by YSIA.
The forum on 24 November presented the preliminary outcomes of the Arctic Startup Expedition, which united creative industry representatives from numerous Russian regions. The project competition saw participation from hundreds of young developers.
'I am confident that the project will progress, and I proposed today, hoping it will be supported, for the project to gain an international scope. We are currently fostering cooperation with nations that align with Russia's stance on defending sovereign values and promoting a multipolar world of collaboration. I am certain that our major partner countries in Asia, the Middle East and globally will be interested in participating in this format,' stated Aleksey Chekunkov during a press briefing.
The Arctic Expedition is an extension of the Far East Startup Expedition that was initiated by Yakutia in 2019. Back then, the organisers were seeking technological projects, encompassing all key sectors of the creative industry beyond just IT.
