In Chukotka, efforts to enhance public transport infrastructure continue under the Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment in Chukotka Autonomous Area programme.

For resident comfort and protection against adverse weather conditions, six new heated bus shelters will be erected this year—five in Ugolnye Kopi and one in the regional capital. Installation and assembly are expected to be completed by mid-November. This was reported by the press service of the Government of Chukotka Autonomous Area.

Next year will see an expansion in the geographic scope of this state programme, with fourteen new bus stops planned for Provideniya and Egvekinot settlements, as well as Pevek and Bilibino.
