In February, Salekhard is to host Arctic Culture Forum

The main themes are announced as the Digital Future of Libraries and the Museum as Creator of Regional Values

In February, the Arctic Culture Forum will be held in Salekhard, Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, with about 30 experts present at the event. On Monday, following the results of the press conference held by Yevgeny Koltunov, Head of the Department of Culture of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, the press centre for the regional government has stated that the Forum will focus on developing libraries and museums.

'In February, the IV Arctic Culture Forum will take place in Salekhard with backing from the Saint Petersburg International Cultural Forum. The main themes will be the Digital Future of Libraries and the Museum as Creator of Regional Values as these constitute the main development strategy for the cultural institutions in the Yamal region. 10 discussion panels will be organised. Approximately 30 experts will take part in the Forum,' reports TASS.

Moreover, the Forum will have the Development of the Cultural Landscape in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area session for facilities specialising in cultural and recreational services.

The Arctic Culture Forum has been taking place in the Yamal region since 2014. Experts from cultural institutions, community activists, authority figures, representatives of businesses and non-profit organisations have been the participants of the event. Among the main themes of the past forums, there have been infrastructure improvement, human resource development, and participatory culture evolution.
