Implementation of Vostok Oil, world's largest investment project, in full swing in north Krasnoyarsk Territory

Production drilling has begun at the Payakhskoye field. The operations involve unique drilling rigs, designed for the harsh Far North conditions and manufactured at Russian machine-building plants.

The rigs are capable of drilling wells up to 6,000 metres long. About 100 drilling rigs of this type will be used for the Vostok Oil project. The news on the project was reported by the media office of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Government.

Rosneft has started the construction of an oil terminal and the main cargo berth of the Bukhta Sever seaport near the settlement of Dixon. The first stage includes building 3 cargo and 3 oil berths, a delivery and acceptance point with 27 tanks, as well as technological facilities and auxiliary infrastructure facilities.

Bukhta Sever seaport's oil terminal will provide for the transshipment of crude oil from the Vostok Oil fields along the North Sea Route. It will be the largest facility of its type in Russia. Oil will be delivered to the Bukhta Sever seaport from the fields of the Payakha and Vankor clusters via a pipeline system, currently under construction. The main oil pipelines will be about 770 km long. The infrastructure of the project's first stage will provide for yearly oil transshipment through the Bukhta Sever seaport in the amount of 30 million tonnes, with subsequent phased increase to 100 million tonnes in 2030.

In the summer navigation period, Rosneft is delivering cargo for the construction of Vostok Oil facilities to the Taymyr Peninsula via the North Sea Route. A batch of modules for the construction of residential complexes for shift workers at Vostok Oil facilities has already been delivered to the port of Dudinka. 545 modern modules will be installed in the Bukhta Sever seaport, at the Norilsk airport, and near the Payakha main oil pumping station.

The plans provide for delivering about 200,000 tonnes of cargo along the North Sea Route during the summer navigation period, including special equipment, pipes, and everything else necessary for the construction of priority facilities; a total of over a million tonnes of cargo and construction materials are to be delivered along the Yenisey River. The load on logistic mainlines is growing as the construction of Vostok Oil picks up steam. In June, shipping carriers of the Yenisey Basin put 143 vessels on the job, almost a third more than last year.
