Chekunkov: about RUB 30 bn of treasury loans will be allocated to the master plans of the AZRF
The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic added that the proposal will be agreed with the Prime Minister.
13 November 2024About RUB 30 bn of treasury infrastructure loans will be allocated for the implementation of infrastructure projects envisaged by the master plans of key settlements in the Arctic, said Aleksey Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic. This was reported by TASS.
'The first is concerning RUB 100 bn of treasury infrastructure loans, which the commission on regional development [of Russian Deputy Prime Minister] Marat Shakirzyanovich Khusnullin has agreed 30% in the working order, that is, it is RUB 30 bn. We believe this is serious. [Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District] Yury Petrovich [Trutnev] agreed as well. <...> We will submit the relevant proposal to the Prime Minister. From next year, we will use this tool, of course, first of all for master plans of cities,' he said at a meeting of the State Council Commission on the North Sea Route and the Arctic.
It was previously reported that master plans for the AZRF key settlements are scheduled for approval in early 2025. Work is currently underway to prioritise the sites. In December 2023, the government identified 16 of the most important Arctic communities for which master plans for development through 2035 have begun, with a start date of 2025.
