A new resident company of the ASEZ 'Stolitsa Arktiki' (ASEZ 'The Capital of the Arctic') will build a liquefied natural gas transshipment facility in the Murmansk Region. Another one will appear in Kamchatka, with an investment of RUB 2.4 bn. Komsomolskaya Pravda writes about it.

'The project involves the delivery of LNG from Russia's Arctic hydrocarbon fields to offshore transshipment facilities by ice-class gas tankers. The LNG will then be transshipped to floating gas storage facilities for short-term storage or board-to-board conventional vessels,' explains the Far East Development Corporation.

The annual transshipment capacity will be more than 20 mn tons of gas.

Today there are two LNG projects operating in the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation—Yamal LNG and Arctic LNG 2. The declared production capacity of the first project is 16.5 mn tons per year, the second is 19.8 mn tons per year.
