The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East received 133 applications for residency in the Russian Arctic, with a total investment of RUB 198 bn, according to the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, Yury Trutnev.

'Five businesses have already been granted resident status. We signed legally binding agreements with them, for a total of RUB 15.3 bn', said Trutnev at the meeting of the State Committee for the Development of the Arctic.

He also noted that collaboration between investors with the management company and the Ministry can be entirely carried out via a special account at Arctic-Russia.ru. All documents will be filed online. In addition, Trutnev asked that the service continue to be developed and improved.

'The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East has almost finished the new revision of the state programme for the development of the Arctic Zone. The Government has decided to provide RUB 17 bn in funding over the next 3 years. To compare, this is 50 times more than what was provided for in the previous three-year budget', Trutnev said, adding, 'and this is only the beginning'.
